The City of Sparks is located in the Truckee Meadows of Northern Nevada. Sparks is in a high desert climate at an elevation of nearly 4,500 feet with four full seasons and sunshine almost 80% of the year.
Most widely known as the premiere special events
venue for all of northern Nevada, with attractions on our Victorian Square which
bring hundreds of thousands of visitors to such annual events as Hometown Farmers Market, Hot August Nights, Nugget Best in
the West Rib Cook-off and Hometowne Christmas.
We also share our beautiful valley with our neighbor to the west, Reno and only a little over an hour's drive to the scenic Lake Tahoe. Another of our wonderful destination parks includes the picturesque
Sparks Marina. Eighty acres of water surrounded by swimming, boating,
fishing, scuba diving and picnicking facilities, with breath-taking views of
the nearby mountains. Events are always happening at the Marina, including
Arts in Bloom,
Pro Wakeboard Tour and the Sparks Turkey Trot.
As the city continues to develop as the ideal tourist destination, the newest addition to the list includes the anticipated
Legends at Sparks Marina, opening fall 2008 - a premiere shopping and dining experience. The list of fun and exciting things to do is growing, come visit Sparks!
