Ward 5 - Council Member, Ron Schmitt

 
Ron Schmitt was elected to the Sparks City Council in June, 2001, and was reelected in November, 2004. He is the past President of the Nevada League of Cities and Municipalities (NLCM) and is a member of the NLCM Legislative Committee. Schmitt is also a member of the National league of Cities and is a past member of the Board of Directors. Schmitt presently serves on the Advisory Board and the Program Committee.
 
Schmitt is the owner and general manager of a business consultant and owner of rps enterprise. He volunteers his time as a board member for the Red Cross of Northern Nevada (TMLEC). He is also a board member for TMLEC.
 
Presently Schmitt serves on the Regional Governing Board, Washoe County Senior Advisory Board, and various other boards.
 
Prior to his election, Schmitt served on the Washoe County Human Services Consortium Advisory Board as member and chair, the Sparks Planning Commission, and the Sparks Citizens Advisory Committee. He also devoted time to the Regional Transportation Commission Paratransit Advisory Committee and the Crisis Call Center.
