Records Division
The Record Division is responsible for all Records Management, Identification functions, Police Assistant duties, Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) responsibilities, and Police Information Technology Support functions. The Records Division provides assistance to the public, outside agencies and businesses, while providing internal support to all Divisions of the Department.

The Sparks Police Department front desk is open 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with Police Assistants to provide citizens with convenient opportunities to file police reports. The Police Assistants at the front desk took 4, 266 case reports and 1,004 supplemental case reports. The Police Assistants responded to 932 calls for service in the field and issued 334 citations. This allows sworn personnel to focus their time on higher priority calls.
The Records Management functions include: citation entry, maintaining and processing crime and accident reports and the dissemination of legally required documents.
